    Default Finger lake Char

Little buddy Jason and I went and fished Finger on Monday. Caught some little landlocks and a few Char and then this guy showed up. Anywhere from 21-23" nice fish. Weather was great, no wind 20 degrees. He had a blast pulling out those fish! Caught it on a blue swim jig tipped with salmon eggs.

Lake trout have more deeply forked tails and more spots, the tail is the best way to tell them from Dollies/Arctic char

    Nice char... Looks like fun
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

    Default Nice char

My wife picked up a really nice 18" rainbow recently during the 5 mins that I gave her the rod to hold while I took our daughter for a wheeler ride.
Nice to see some decent char in there too!
In the spring, just after ice out there are some nice big fish cruising around the shallows out there!

Awesome catch! And thanks for sharing, both the happy fish pix and the jig info. Always nice to know what works.
