    Default Reel Repair

Does anyone know of a shop or somebody who does repair work on Abu Garcia/Ambassadeur bait casting reels. I have four that need some attention. For some reason the worm drives on these reels start to stick and the line gets piled up on one side. Please let me know and I'll give them some business.

Super simple repair you can do yourself.

The pawl that runs the level wind back and forth is worn. This is a $2 part and a 60 second replacement.
If you turn the reel over you will see that there is a cover on the bottom of the line guide that can be unscrewed using a slotted screwdriver. Once it is removed the pawl can be removed and replaced. Reassemble, add grease on the wormgear and you're good to go.
