    Default Lol!

Thats funny. Looks like a lot of work. I wonder how well that idea would work for Rainbows or Char. I guess you were just working on your casting accuracy.

    Nice.

    Default nice try

I'm always trying something different, never know what will happen. Keep it up and you may come up with a whopper!

You should have tried "trolling" a herring along the bottom.

I did..lol...and spoons, jigs, plastics, big streamers, small streamers, spinners...the only thing I didn't try was suiting up in the scuba gear and spearing them underwater....lol....I refused to leave my spot until I iced a pike...I finally had to give in to my growling stomach...lol...soon after I sat down to eat my PB&J I hooked one jigging a spoon...go figure...

Now you got me thinking (probably a bad thing). What about using a chain saw and cutting out a 8' square to use the bow. Then again I have no idea if you could actually see to shoot. Maybe if you put up a big dark tent over the hole and cleared all the snow around it to let the light get through the ice to brighten up the water it might work...

I used to use a chainsaw but the auger is just a lot faster...
this vid shows me starting with the saw and switching over to the auger because the overflow was just killing the saw...

an 8' hole?......wow, that'd be nice but easy to fall in....you'd have to do it in sections, then find a way to enclose it so you could see well into the water, then find a way to close it back up so someone else doesn't find it the hard way...lol....

If it could be done safely it would be a kick in the pants to have an 8' hole to shoot through...you make up the warning signs and lets go cut a hole...

Great video, not boring at all. It was a good idea, just didn't work out. I really enjoyed it, thanks.

    Thumbs up Right on

Excellent! I support all creative fish porn! Certainly an A+ for creative fishing. However I almost had a heart attack watching you work that hard.

    Default Google "Ice saw"

We did about a 100 footer one day on a walleye lake in Minnesota. Caught tons of fish and no slush to scoop out of the hole. Good fun.

I'd reccomend not using a vibrax next time
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

I saw those ice saws online. Anyone ever use one on our thicker ice?

Great video by the way. I got a good laugh.
