Default Kasilof king float trip in june

I will be in the area on the 6th or 7th of june and have been trying to plan my best chances of catching some Kings at that time. Does anyone mind shareing their thoughts on this? I plan to hire a guide. Any suggestions on a good place to spend the night as well? If i may have a better chance at catching some halibut at that time, i'm all ears.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

Get a hold of Bob Ball of Piscatorial Pursuits. He'll take care of you.

    Default kasilof

We fished the Kasilof last year on June 6th and 7th, float trip with guide. Two of us caught one salmon. Might be too early for the Kasilof, sending PM also, Mark

    Default Kasilof

Last year was a different year. Normally, the Kasilof is going very good the first week of June building to the normal peak on the 10th. So I think your timing should be good.

Here are a couple of links for you to also consider:

Don Drury Fishing; http://www.druryfishing.com; Don is a phenominal guide.
Forest View Lodge; http://www.raptnalaska.com; This is a 4 plex rented by the day; fully furnished and equipped; 2 or 3 bedroom units. 3 miles from Soldotna. Excellent accomodations at an excellent price.

    Cheers

that time period is good for the Kasilof (very close to the normal peak) as well as the Kenai. I would consider a guided trip on each of these rivers if I were you.

fishing isn't about life or death... it's more important than that.

6 or 7th is pretty much right in the middle of it ... looking back at last year's logbooks, the 5th and 7th were our biggest days of the month (with 6th close behind) with well, well into double digits numbers of kings to the boat ...

Those sorts of days vary a few days by each season, but odds are very good to have pretty good action.

There are lots of places to stay in the area ... we routinely set our guests up in places in Kasilof. Some places are better suited for wishes / group sizes than others ... but there is likely a perfect place depending upon you want. If you want to PM particulars (size / wishes) for your group, I can pass along some ideas.

Thanks to all that responded. I found your input helpful. I plan to secure a float trip within a couple days.
