goog grief is right....did you catch this part?...

"It is the belief of deep ecologists that humans do not occupy a central and superior place in the animal kingdom, and we have an obligation and responsibility to live our lives in a manner that creates the least direct impact upon other life forms."...

I'm guessing that there is a little hypocrisy there...

    Thumbs down Typcial enviro hogwash

The most notable quote on the entire site...

The only realistic long term strategy is to work towards a total ban on Thrillcraft. Use of land based machines like dirt bikes, four wheelers, swamp buggies, dune buggies, and the like should be banned from all public lands...
That article further goes on to compare off road vehicles to cigarettes, noting that a few years ago banning smoking was inconceivable, yet today they have banned smoking in most public places.

In a way, they are right. And it is the reason why failure to police ourselves will result in groups like this getting the government to ban us completely.

By the way... if you didn't notice, the entire focus of that website is a sales pitch for a $60 book. Doubt there's much of a profit margin there. After all, he only wrote it for the good of the environment, right?

Several negative impacts are common with all thrillcraft whether personal water craft (jet skis), dirt bikes, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles or any other motorized vehicles used primarily for off highway travel is that they operate with two-stoke engines. These engines utilize a combination of oil and gas and discharge as much as 30% of the mixture directly into the air, land and water.
Here I thought the great majority of ATV's are 4 stroke.

The thing is, in all my years of hunting, fishing, and offroading, I've never come across anyone way back in the woods that wasn't doing the same sort of things I was. I guess the drum beating tea circle must not be in the places I hang out....
