    Default winter ducks?

how many winter ducks would a duck hunter hunt if a duck hunter could hunt ducks?

ahhh yes...the end of duck season blues. Gotta make a trip to Kodiak, the Aluetians or Pribilofs to enjoy any open duck hunting now. When will September get here? I can't wait!

I was wondering what it would take to get two seasons for Southcentral, one for fresh water and one for Saltwater. The freshwater season would stay the same and the saltwater season would mimick Kodiak's season. Obviously the tidal areas would have to be zoned either fresh or salt, depending on traditonal use or determined by locals observations of bird patterns or something along that sort.
The end goal would be a longer salt season for us. That way we could start on Sept. 1. and after Dec. 16, we would have a longer season for the salt water sea ducks.

    Any thoughts?

I have been thinking the same thing. Are you going to write the proposal? I am with you.

I would be more than happy to write the proposal, but I am not sure how the waterfowl regs are set in the state. I think it is different than the normal BOG proposals since waterfowl are federally managed. If I remember correctly the feds give us so many days and then the state decides how to use them. I will look into it.

I just signed up today with AOF and am wondering if you know anyone who could guide me over the new years holidays for ducks/deer or whatever on Kodiak. I'm in Soldotna a short flight away. Thanks John
