    Default modify "member"

is there a way we can customize the "member" part underneath our user name? ... I was thinking putting our real names if we can....

    Just an Idea ...

P.S. I know it is possible ///.. so that makes this a sugestion(sp)

I like the idea, (insert real name here). Bushrat and a few other members have mentioned in the past that if we all knew each other´s names, perhaps we´d be a bit more civil towards one another than we would be to a screen name without anything else attached. Anyhow, I´d like to hear some other thoughts on this one. What do others think?

I think you should be working on your tan Brian!! I kinda like the idea, I have no problem with people knowing my first name. At least then I would be recognized by that and not *****

I understand and respect why some people want to be anonymous. But I think even just responding to a first name really adds to making the forum a better place. Nothing to prevent you putting your name in your signature line as I do if it isn't a part of your screen name.

Or just sign your name at end of your posts, first name or whole name.

You had better have a margarita in your hand or at least a cold beverage watching that sunset Brian. Merry christmas to you and your family and be safe in your travels

Let's see, since I have been posting here I have received threats of physical violence, my wife has been the target of vile sexual comments.......

I agree that putting names on profiles will probably clean things up. But then again, that only protects the innocent. If someone wants to be a jerk, all they have to do is sign up with a fake name. Next thing you know there would be a lot of Joe Smiths running around here.

I like seeing a lot of the handles here, it is fun to try and figure out what they mean and tell you a little bit about the guy behind the handle sometimes...Unless they have something really boring like "Brian M" (just kidding).

    of course its voluntary ....
I'm sure Brian wouldn't mind opening that up for personalization...

"member" is generic , that or its the "others" just trying to keep us in check..

Depending on which way the rules are blowing, THAT could be termed as a sexual reference ya know....

I enjoy sending my name out to people who I get along with.

I'm a liberal in a highly conservative neighborhood. My wife and child should not have to deal with some idealistic nimwit who disagrees with my political or religious stance.

I think everybody in this thread knows my name, but I don't want some folks to know who I am.

I've shaken hands with quite a few members. Most of the mods, David, and many of the members know who I am.

I consider it a privilege to address folks by name, not a right.
