On a somewhat unrelated topic, I purchased an NRA membership from their website about 3 weeks ago, and last week I received my first reply from them, which was an application for membership! I hope to receive my actual membership information soon, but I guess it doesn't matter either way as the reason I bought it was to show support and add to the NRA's numbers to send a message to our new President.

    Thumbs up Just joined again...

... after a 6 year hiatus. Thanks for the link.

I didn't re-up before due to the annoying, persistent phone calls, and plus I got a little blase' under the Bush administration. Now with ... um... certain folks in the house, I have cause to be nervous again. This time I left my phone number off the application, so maybe I'll only get spam.

I got my renewal notice a few days ago and I'm seriously considering paying up front for the sweet deal ($500) on "Life" membership.
    Now what ?

    Cool +1 Life

They have some good 'quarterly payment' life memberships out there.

I've been an annual member since I was 9. Just signed up as a life-r at 36..

They are running this deal (I believe I was quoted 550) until the new president takes office in January. No ELP or quarterly payment for this though....gotta pay the full amount...

    Default Another Reason

    to support the NRA.

WASHINGTON -- An anti-gun group is suing to stop a last-second Bush administration change that would allow Americans to carry concealed, loaded guns in most national parks and wildlife refuges.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence sued the Interior Department in federal court on Tuesday.
They want a federal judge to stop the elimination of a 25-year-old federal rule severely restricting loaded guns in national parks.
The previous regulation required that firearms be unloaded and placed somewhere that is not easily accessible, such as inside a car trunk. But in January, visitors will be able to carry a loaded gun into a park or wildlife refuge if the person has a concealed weapon permit and if state law also allows concealed firearms. From Fox News

I just finishd reading 1st Freedom publication that comes in the mail for NRA members. It describes the "anti" character of the Obama political appointees. My friends, it doesn't look good in regards to a haitus on the assault on the second ammendment. George Soros is a big problem with lots of money to throw around, the U.N. is promoting global civilian disarmament treaties, the Brady bunch have lawsuits waiting in the shadows. Plan on a full court press with this administratrion to make all semi auto firearms illegal, so called "child safe" firearms. Join the NRA and organize locally, what will you do when your AR is illegal to possess, your Browning deer rifle or 10/22 ruger, no semi auto handguns. Organize now or lose your rights. Don't forget to research Global Poverty Act 2007 authored by the Obamanation himself. It has the loopholes to create a global wealth redistribution tax and surrender soveriegnty of U.S. to the U.N. "you will know them by their deeds"

Every man or woman who owns a gun should be in the NRA. As a great American once say. If we dont hang together then surely we will hang one by one.

I'll turn 55 this year and still went ahead and signed up to be a life member.
I also signed up 3 new members, the NRA needs a large head count and money to help protect our rights.

And ...once again, the NRA is half-cocked in their stance. They are not standing firm against Eric Holder (attorney general nominee) ...but note that the Gun Owners of America are! I'm a life member of the NRA and have been for a lot of years and I'm peeved at the weak stance they've been taking lately. Do like me and go join the GOA too. I just became a life member today! Branch out and increase your political clout, and take action through your representatives.
