Default Nice day on the ice yesterday...........

AK_DUCKMAN, myself, and another friend of ours went out to one of our favorite lakes that seems to treat us pretty well.

    We also stayed warm:

Not sure about they guys though:

    The bounty:

The bigger rainbow was caught by AK_DUCKMAN, whom happened to be camera shy this go-around.

If you guys are looking for some company next time I have a tent w/ seats and a wheeler to pull it around with. I live around the KGB/Palmer Wasilla intersection
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

I should have snapped the pictures with my camera to show the nice colors of some of these fish, especially the bigger one.

    TWB,

I'll keep that in mind. I live down KGB myself.

    Default Catch & Release?

If you guys catch anymore of those $20 flat fish, and you do not want to keep them, send them my way? I would be willing to make good use of a couple of those if you where going to release them. Thanks in advance.

How the hell do we eat the trout if we release them? Think about it.

What the hell is that all about. I thought this was Alaska not California. Nice fish looks like a lot of fun!

Most of these fish in these stocked lakes do not spawn, so it really doesn't make a hill of beans if you take a limit or not. They will not affect the future.

    Default Game hogs!

You guys should have released some as soon as possible!! Here is how you do it in case you dont know. If done properly it works great. there are several steps that need to be followed.
    1. remove entrails
    2. rinse in cold water
    3. dip in beaten egg
    4. roll in flour and cracker crumbs
    5. RELEASE in hot oil and let them swim untill golden brown. crack a beer and enjoy!

Also to not ''HOG'' it all to yourself you should invite me over. I would even bring the beers. that way you will not be known as a game hog. I am alwasy willing to help out. i would of course reciprocate if i had a good day on the ice! Great catch guys it looks like you had a great time!

Maybe they should have thrown then in the air a few times before releasing them...

I read about it. But my parents always told me to not play with my food. I took it that advice to heart and practice it religiously.

At least one post like that is almost required on each thread where somebody catches rainbows and decides to eat them.

As a mater of fact thats about how I did mine. Only corn meal not flour. The big guy will get broiled with bacon.
