Does Alaska have a price break on licenses for disabled vets?

Depends upon how disabled the vet is.
Then it's not a price break, it's free, for life.

Page 9 of the current regs.
    50% or greater.
Here's a link to the form:

AK has lots of other benefits as well.

Do a Google search on Alaska, Disabled, Veteran, Benefits.

Heres your answer from the ADF&G website. You can receive a free license if you meet the requirements. Hope this helps...

What if i'm not a resident yet, rent a house, have a state job, get 100% VA service connected disabilty , and want to go fishing?

If you cant stand behind the troops in Iraq.. Feel free to stand in front of them.

Buy a license -- when you meet the residency requirements you'll get the benefits...

    Including:

    • Up to $150,000 on your primary residence = no property tax
    • Free Hunt/Fish license
    • Discount National Park pass
    • Free Camping Pass
    • and the list goes ON...

Here's a quick synopsis from the state:

    Default Go to F&G Office

Once you meet the residency requirements, go down to the Fish and Game office and fill out a Disabled Vet application and apply for the free hunting/fishing/trapping license. You need to take a letter of disability with you, you can pick that up at the VA hospital on the 2nd floor at the benefits counter. The Fish and Game office will give you a temporary license and your permanent license will be sent from the Juno main office. The disabled license is only good as long as you maintain all the residency requirements. If you move out of the state and purchase another state license your vet license is void.
