Default Shrimping Around Kuiu and Kake

A friend and I are headed down to Kuiu Island next spring for black bear and I'd like to do some shrimping while I'm there. I've never been there before and this will be my first year shrimping. Beyond "steep and deep", does anyone have any information about shrimping that area?

I think you pretty much have it. Steep and deep. Remeber Chatham currents are really strong! if you end up over there. Bear fat makes excellent bait by the way.

    Default Bear fat?

    martenpine,
Are you using the bear fat to lure in more bears or shrimp?

Dungie fished down that way years ago,Tebenkof and Bay of Pillars if I remember correctly, really beautifull country.I have no idea what the crab regs are like anymore, but there were also kings in the area too.
    Good luck
