Default Some pics from the trapline

Got a big dump of snow (for us) last week, about 8" in all. Made for slow going for the dogs. That depression line in the snow to the left of dogs in this pic is open water where gravel bar meets river:

Shortly afterward the trail cuts across a high flat, nice to see a marten in a bucket set:

Coming down off these higher flats is always fun:

    Thumbs up couple more pics

Checked a few more marten sets and a wolverine set. Nada. And shortly before the trail veers off in a loop to come back the full moon rose:

Doesn't get much better than that on the trail. Another marten on way back in a bucket set, too dark for a pic but snapped this last one just before entering the woods on the last stretch before home:

It's blurry, not sure what the shutter speed was but it was pretty dark out. Dogs did good, temp had dropped to -20 when I got home, all in all a nice day out with the dogs on the line.

I just thought you were unhappy with the low light pics. Even if you were, they are great to me.

    Default Checking the trap-line

The time of year and all the white snow with you sled dogs , checking traps , how beautiful and serene . I can only imagine . The critters were a bonus too .

That hill is pretty tricky and challenging with the dogs huh ? What type of boots do you where ? Thanks a bunch Bushrat

As allways, your livin my dream mark! Great shots, how long is your trap line? How successful are you at the winters end with martin, mink, wolf, lynx?

Thank you for sharing the pictures. They bring back good memories of when I trapped out of King Salmon some 30+ years ago.
