    Default Hunting permits

How many people remembered to submit their drawing permits by 6 Dec 2008.

Submitted mine in November, maybe I'll actually get picked this year, really irritating to have sheep in your back yard and not be able to hunt them!

I chose not to apply for any of the winter drawing hunts this year. I have an open area for sheep that seems like it will produce a couple more rams this year and along with my moose hunt there is no time for goat.

Even though I put in for a couple of local sheep hunts, it's a goat that I really want, have not had good luck so far.

It's getting harder to get time off of work in the fall, so I didn't put in for a permit that I might not be able to use. You're welcome.

If it turns out that I have some free time, I can always hunt the general harvest areas.

By the way, did ya notice there weren't any ewe tags available in 14C?

Glad to see that some of the AC input is working to help with the degrading Sheep population!

    You snooze - you lose.

I'd don't need the extra competition - so no reminders from me!

Also, you can't win, if you don't play.

I will graciously accept help when, and if, I draw a LE sheep tag.

I guess i am liking the odds a little better.. when 14% of the person polled so far either forgot or did not wish to participate in the draw... given that we posted many times the reminder..

i wonder how much of the general public failed to remember this time around as they are accustomed to drawing some of these in the spring? I put in for 5 bull tags in the 2 zones attached to my property in clear..hmmmm maybe we have a chance this year...

Not only that, but they dramatically cut the # of ram permits for Eagle River. The # of permits for the rest of 14C seem to be static, but each season in E.R. now has only one permit as opposed to three. Man...what I wouldn't give to have that one early season permit!

We used to put my wife in for ewe permits for a meat hunt, but this year she's in for some rams. I would far prefer she wins as opposed to me, but we'll take anything happily. As for me, I have never won a goat permit while watching my brother win four. I sure would like to chase a goat, so that's what I'm pulling hard for.

I looked at the reality of being in shape for a sheep or goat hunt and decided that it wasn't going to happen this year. Neither of my kids were interested in those hunts either. So, this year we just sat out this round of permit apps.

You noticed I had to wait for deadline to pass to submit poll, just joking. Did try and put the son and I in seperate this year.

My buddy wanted to throw our names in for a Spring Brownie, but I talked him down as I didn't REALLY think we could pull it off if we won a tag. Goin' for a '10 Fall brownie instead.

Yep, what happened to the ewes? I've been putting in for those for a few years as they had a slightly higher winning %.

Threw my name in for 3 sheep & 3 goat.

I was surprised we didn't see a 12-5 thread titled "Did you put in for your permits" like what usually seems to be the case!

I did, but I'm not expecting to draw anything with the permits that I applied for. I think I have a 1% draw chance for sheep and goat.
