    Default Clear Jel for canning

Does anyone know where I can purchase clear Jel for canning apple pie filling?

I have used Cornstarch in the past, but am wanting to try this product.

I live in the valley so that would be best, but Anchorage area is OK as well.

    Thanks for any help

Not Sure. Are you reffering to a product (SURE JELL) used for canning jelly and jam? Mom used it for canning.

no it's not sure jel, it's called clear jel and my mom told me they used to order it from the lower 48.

Default Clear Gel - online source

    Lynne,

I have found a source on line at: http://www.barryfarm.com/thickeners.htm

If you are not adverse to purchasing things online you can buy Clear Gel for $2.99 a pound.
