    Default Burbot in Mirror Lake

Went ice fishing for a while today at Mirrow and I'm pretty sure I caught about an 8" long burbot. Anyone else catch any out of there? I caught a couple last time I was there too.

They're awesome fish. Not awesome in food/fighting ability but awesome in that they seem to have alot of personality. Would always catch a couple when fishing for trout, they were just really cool when they swam away.

i have also caught them in delong lake. i cleaned a few and cut out their rib bones so they were bone-free...not much meat left but what there was fried up white and tasted really mild...too bad they are commonly so small or they would make an excellent meal

I caught one of those last weekend at Mirror Lake and was wondering what it was. I also thought it might be a little Burbot. Good information guys.

Dito High Country, good info. Thanks for the replies. It was actually a little scrapper on the light rod I was using. Might have to get a few for the fish tank

I dont really care what happens with blackfish but just FYI it is illegal to transport fish w/o a permit
