    Default Still plenty of mallards!

I've got a photographer from South Carolina up here for this week. We were supposed to be chasing sea ducks, but the weather just wasn't cooperating this morning. High winds and rough seas left us looking for another alternative. We decided to chase mallards on the river instead. Shooting all drakes we ended the day in about 3 hours with 4 green wing teal, 1 pintail, and the rest green heads. Not bad for Scott's first day in Alaska!!

Looking to get after the harlis and old squaw tomorrow!

Great pic! One of these days I have to give duck hunting a try!
By the way how are the sea ducks as table fare?

Wish I was lucky enough to find some birds to legally shoot on the Kenai peninsula or around Anchorage. The only greenheads are the one that live in chester creek across the street from my house. Very frustrating.
