Thread: trigger pull

    Default trigger pull

What trigger pull is recommended for a hunting rifle - 300 rum. How light can I go and still be safe.

I think the risk manager answer is 5 lbs, I usually have mine at 3 1/2

What ever you have it adjusted to make sure you get used to it!! Most recommend 2 - 3.5 lb. Mine is a consistent 32 oz for last 10 yrs - wouldn't in general recommend less. When shooting I ALWAYS pull the trigger without any glove - winter or summer - for me no glove.

All of my commonly used rifles are 3.0 to 3.5 pounds pretty much across the board, which makes getting used to them easy. Ditto on the comment regarding preference of not shooting with gloves.

I have Timney triggers on my rifles, and have them set at 2.5 lbs.
