    Thumbs up Alpha Furs

If you are in southcentral Alaska, I would suggest that you take the raw pelt directly to Gary, owner/operator of Alpha Furs. You can call him at 907 868-3227. Many??most??every?? taxidermist in AK uses Alpha Furs to tan customer capes and hides. If you go in to his business (sort of behind SBS, 36th & Minn Ave?) you will see hundreds of capes from all over the world.

I had Woodland taxidermy in Wasilla tan my bison hide. Turned out great, but they are fairly expensive to have tanned.

    Default Trophy Taxidermy in Palmer

Give Tim at Trophy a call. He tans everything on location including lots and lots of bear, buffalo and musk ox. First class operation and affordable too.
His # is 745-6186 and he's located just off Trunk and Palmer-Wasilla, about a mile from 3 bears grocery store.

    Default I 2nd Alpha

I've used Alpha for many of my big hides. Goat, brown bears, black bears. Never a buffalo yet, but I'm sending one down there this week from a guy who didn't want his hide. I've never had a problem and the turn around time has always been pretty good for me.
