    Default Clunie Lake today

Hit Clunie lake again today. Ice is about 12" thick all over.
Tried between the peninsulas, thanks AK powder Monkey, and had a blast.
Our biggest was a char at just under 16" down to the 12" trout. Had another char just as big swim right under the ice a couple times just going about his business. My son had one at as we were packing up and then lost it at the last second right in the hole. I tried to reach in and grab it but it still got away. Anyways should be good eatin' in the next day or two.

    Thumbs up

That is a great day with your son. That dolly is a nice fish no matter where it was caught. Great color

    Default Dolly?

    AlaskaChuck,
I thought it was char oops. It's our 1st one ever and I thought the pics online looked more like a char but I'm no expert. I need to look closer.
    Thanks,
    ChuckD

Dolly and char are essentially interchangeable terms for all practical reasons that fish is an arctic char but the only way to tell is because thats what they stock...

Glad you had fun, I always did there when I was a little kid
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
