    Default Musher killed by snowmachine...

Did you all hear of this? An Anchorage pediatrician was running the sled with the team owner in the basket when a 20 year old on a snowmachine ran him over from behind and killed him. The owner (in the basket) was critically injured.

I'll try to find a link to the news story....I heard it on the radio.

    edit -

It happened near Kotz - ADN story

    Default Tracey is improving

Tracey Schaeffer, the woman injured in the accident is improving. She is a wonderful friend along with her husband Chuck and daughter Bailey. we wish the very best for her and her family. An unnecessary accident and tragic loss of life due to poor judgement and alcohol. Her medical expences are growing by the day and there is a fund created at the hospital to help defray the expense to the family. do a web search for Tracey Schaeffer to find the info. Or here is a copy of the email we recieved from Chuck,
"Tracey was involved in a very serious dogsled/snowmachine accident. She is presently in very serious condition at the Providence Hospital in Anchorage. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.Updates may be seen @ thestatus.com , password: schaeffer login: schaeffer1. Storiesmay be found @ adn.com archives. thank you, Chuck and Bailey"

Default Dr. Gollub was our Childrens Doc...

& he will be sorely missed...& For the Shacffers for a quick recovery!

I see that Trooper Main (he was our area trooper when I was VPO) was the investigating officer, & I hope he nails the guys testise to the wall...

& 1stimer I am sure that there are accidents that involve no alcohol as well...so yeah, there could be doubt...
