Thread: New Powder for WSM Loaders

Default New Powder for WSM Loaders

I heard about this in another forum. Looks like it might be a winner... I'ts supposed to give "consistent maximum velocity in extreme weather conditions". And the velocities are higher than other powders by about 50-100 fps.

I think I'll give it a go if I can find some.

You might have to order through your powder supplier. Our SW doesn't stock it yet and wont order it. I'm going to try another store. I also called Allient yesterday and they are out and not expecting to ship any until early Dec. Which means orders should probably be placed soon.

Here are a couple of articles on it. Hopefully it's not all hype.

I gave up trying to buy anything at SW. They were totally out of powder the other day and laughed when I asked when they would get some Varget in. They told me it was impossible to get. I drove to Great Northern Guns and they had all I wanted.
Also asked SW about LH stainless Rugers since they have NEVER had one in stock. They told me Ruger was not allowed to ship them to Alaska! When I asked the guy why Wal Mart had them in stock he gave me the "deer in the headlight look".
I really enjoy browsing at SW but for the last year or so they have totally flunked trying to keep anything as fas as reloading components in stock. What a bunch of idiots.
    Sorry for venting! lol

Anybody found it in Alaska yet? The two wholesalers that I know of supplying powder up here don't have it.

Sportsman’s Warehouse is soon to get better as far as stocking the shelves. They were recently bought out by a Canadian company. This buyout my not help the customer service but will most likely keep the shelves in better shape than they’ve been in the past.

    Looking forward to the change

I doubt it based on the information I have. Buy out is not really the proper term by the way.
