    Thumbs up homemade leather conditioner

just mixed up some beeswax and bear fat... i was curious about how it would cool, whether it would separate or not.
i melted 8 oz of rendered bear grease and added about 4 oz of beeswax. put it on the woodstove in a double boiler (okay, really just in a jar in a pot of water) and heated it until the wax melted. i stirred it up and let it cool and it was totally emulsified, no separating at all.
looks and feels like snow seal, smells a little sweet and not bad at all.
should also be a good patch lube for the muzzleloader.

    Cool Interesting idea

So... You're not worried about drawing bears in to the scent of your boots - coated in animal fat and beeswax?

Sounds like something you'd smear on a bait station...
