Thread: Brooks Range Transporters

  1. #1

    Question Brooks Range Transporters

I'm looking into a Brooks Range hunt for sheep primarily, bear and bou if we happen upon them. I'm looking for a transporter for a DIY drop off hunt and checked the services section of this site and really didn't find a list, at least none that advertise here. Any leads on transporters, I assume most are out of Faribanks and further north. Thanks for any leads.

Good list, there are a couple of others - that I wouldn't recommend EXCEPT FOR: Kirk Sweetsir, owner of Yukon Air. I have flown with Kirk for years in the Brooks for sheep hunts with my sons. He knows the area well, is a conservative and very safe pilot. He and Wright Air would be my first picks for the eastern Brooks (esp. ANWR). Good Luck. http://www.yukonair.com/

I have flown with howard and arrowhead outtfitters and he is great he is locatede in wasilla during the winter and does flyin pike spearing. He has a maul that can haul a lot of weight and he has sheep spots that he drops a few hunters off at. I dont think he had any this year though.

Kirk's schedule is already pretty tight for sheep. Coyote probably is as well. Wright's might be a good option. Brooks Range Aviation might be worth checking in with also. Plan on about $2K per person for ANWR.
