Default So I've got this old gun....

Well my buddy does actually. We've only been able to find two markings on this rifle. H. Peiper and another marking (both pictured below). After some very brief searching online, I think it may be a 7-8mm rifle made in belgium in maybe the late 1800's early 1900's. It appears to be in pretty good shape for its age, and if anyone has any more info, let me know.

Is it anything special? If not, its "cool" value is still there, IMO. Anything at, near, or over 100 years old is cool in my book!

    Default flobert

Looks to be a Belgian made Flobert style parlor/parlour rifle. Go to Gunbroker, search flobert or parlor for value.

    Default Flobert

Seems like I remember that the Floberts were around 1870s-1900s. Most that I have seen are cracked at the stock very similar to your second picture. These were made to only shoot no-powder (primer only) caps indoors. I could be wrong about this ... the proof mark ELG in a circle is Belgian pre-1898.
