    looks like he is going to be okay, the eye is opening and he is eating voraciously. probably will release him tomorrow evening.
    sure was cool to have the chance to be so close to him.

    ate a big meal, sat on the deck rail for a while and flew off into the gloaming this evening!

    Great job Dave. How did you end up with him anyway. Sure was a pretty guy though and like you said, It had to be so cool to get that close

    great pics Dave.. reminds me of my trip to Laughlin Nev... i went down for my dads 65th.. and we went on the Davis dam tour. on the way down the dock i found one about the size of my fist floating with his wings out under the dock. those HUGE carp were tracking in on him as i pulled him out.. i was surprised he made no effort to get away from me. I guess he know i was helping. got him up to the shore in the 115 deg sun and put him on the tree. it only took about 5 min and he was warming up nd cleaning his feathers...

    I agree it feels good to rescue something once in awhile.
