Default 27 bunnies in 3 hours

Went out with some friends last saturday to a spot I have always managed to get a few rabbits but there were more than a few this year. No snow made seeing them easy, shot the first one fifty feet from the truck after seeing it move while I was swapping boots. When we returned to the road there were wet brown bear tracks going up over the pavement right ahead of us. I have not hunted rabbits in 12 to 15 years but this was fun. I have not seen numbers like that since the 80's.

Wow!! Now that looks like a blast!

I've only been out once this year and didn't see anything, you got the spot! Keep it up!

Bob are you up in the Cantwell/Healy area? Every thing I have heard is the bunnies are at peak cycle in that area.

You guys should see see another good season next year for bunnies as well if my understanding of the cycle is accurate. I visited a friend south of slowdotna last year and saw quite a few just driving through his neighborhood! Congrats on the great hunt, and don't worry about me getting on your bunnies I cant even convince myself to drive all the way down there to subsistance set net and my buddy already has the net set up!

I knew you weren't in the Fairbanks area ...or Healy ...or Cantwell. We haven't been snow-free anywhere near here for awhile now. Congrats on the nice haul. I'll be trying to get out for a few this weekend too. What's your favorite way of preparing them? Do you soak in milk, buttermilk, salt water, vinegar water, nor zippo nada?
