    Default Smilies-some have 'em - some don't?

A friend told me yesterday that he can't use the "smilies" when he posts.
Sure enough, he logs onto AOD and in his "post" screen, he has no box full of Smilies on the right. We fished around looking for a user toggle to turn that feature on, but no luck.

How does a user turn on that feature?
    Thanks.

I think ther is a box in the lower left hand corner that says

    BB code is On
    Smilies are On
    [IMG] code is On
    HTML code is Off

That will allow you to turn them on

    Default Thanks...

for the reply Moose-head, but I checked when he was logged on and this wasn't it. He didn't have a smilies box at all. Wierd. I emailed Dave Johnson the question. Doesn't seem to be a common problem.
    Thanks, man.

    Default WYSIWYG editor

No. It was weird - no smilies box. I emailed Dave Johnson who suggested the following:

"Check to see if the full WYSIWYG editor is enabled. It is in the User CP. Whether that or a faster editor are enabled is user selectable."

In "User CP", it's under "Edit Options", then at the bottom, "Miscellaneous Options", "Message Editor Interface", select "Enhanced Interface-Full WYSIWYG editing". Haven't heard whether it worked, but bet chances are good.
