    Default Anyone been to ANWR?

I am floating the Kongakut River in ANWR this coming June. One day of rafting, one day of hiking is the plan. Ten day trip. Wondering if anyone has been up that way. It will be my first time in that part of the state and I was hoping for some insights. Looks very scenic.

I've been hiking up there, east of Galbraith Lake. Gorgeous area but the tundra was very difficult there. Hiking up on the mountain side was much easier going. Good luck and take lots of pictures!

    Default Anwr

I've spent quite a lot of time in ANWR and it's a great place. Bring at least one good camera, and plenty of batteries and cards/tapes. Also some binoculars and/or a spotting scope. Make sure you have good raingear and two bottles of DEET.

    Have a good trip!

Thanks! That is a great article. The last line,

Makes me want to get on a bush plane. June seems so far away...
