Thread: Taxidermy question...

    Default Taxidermy question...

    Hey guys,
I got a wolverine the other day, and I've seen before where guys would get them made into little "bear rug" style rugs. Have any of you done this and who did the work? I'd also be great if you could show a picture of the rug and include any details such as cost, time, etc.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Eric

Dave McClannahan, Lone Wolf Taxidermy does them and does a great job. $625 total cost.

Did this one myself, but most any taxidermist that does bear rugs should be able to fix you up.

Steve....That looks really nice for some home taxidermy. Is it the first one you have done?

I just got my rug back and wanted to post an update.

I went with Harter's Taxidermy in Fairbanks. Service from Richard was great, and I think he did a awesome job. Here are some photos:

congratulations nw ak on a beautifully colored wolverine. that is a fine trophy and the rug looks like it turned out well. i am sure that your unique experience hunting/trapping that animal will be rekindled each time you pause to reflect on the final piece of art.

    Default Nice Trophy

Im glad with a trophy like yours that you got it professionally done. I know I've only seen 3 wolverines in the last ten years, with zero shooting opportunities. Looks great

AKPREDATOR... Wife picked the colors. I personally would have gone with a brown/black combo.
