    Default Damaged Limb

A friend recently gave me an “old” Bear Grizzly recurve bow. It has some cracking on the lower limb that appears to be contained to the finish only. I strung it up and it shoots just fine so I would like to strip the entire bow down and refinish it myself.

Dose anyone have fist hand experience with this type of maintenance? And or can you recommend a good source i.e. printed publications or videos?

    Thanks

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Stop!!!! Don"t!!!!!!!!!! Halt!!!!!!!!! Desist!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless potentially making a $150-200, maybe a little more, bow into a $50 dollar "Life lesson", and destroying a pice of archery history dosent bother you. "Crazing" in the finish of vintage bows is normal and doesn't effect there function but screwing up a refinish job can destroy it's historic and intrinsic value forever! Please if you feel it must be refinished really do your research or let a pro handle it...please!

    Please!
