    Default Kodiak Bear Hunters

Good luck to all you folks that were fortunate to draw a Kodiak Brown Bear tag. Couldn't help but think back to this day last year (even though it seems like about five year ago) when Jake and I were set up in camp and ready to go see what we could spot on the opener. Nothing like the anticipation of what might happen on the trip. Definately the hunt of a lifetime and hopefully it will be the same for all the tag holders this year. Best wishes and can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures.

    Default Nice!

Now THAT is a beautiful specimen indeed. Who did your taxidermy work? And yes, how about a story?

    Default Kodiak Brown Bear

That is the finished product of the big bear BRWNBR and I took on Kodiak last fall. Story was under the thread Huge Brownie and too many hunters. Mount was Jake's idea and it came out great. Taxidermist was All Around Taxidermy located in Sandy, Oregon just a mile down the road from where I live. Owner is Duwayne Gilbert and he does awesome work. Does it as a side hobby and his main concern is that it comes out exactly how you wanted it. Every day I look at it reminds me of that great experience on Kodiak and makes me want to go back.

Sweet Mount! I like the addition of the backpack the deer cape is strapped to; Kinda different!
