    Default spring black bear

Could anyone advise as to the best date in the spring to hunt black bear out of Seward or Homer? We will be hunting from a boat.
    Thanks

You will get a lot of different answers for this question. It mainly depends on the weather. We take a trip for black bear every spring out of Seward or Homer, it depends on the weather where we launch from. We go in early to mid May and always see plenty of bears launching from either town.

i took 20 guys this year and the only ones that struck out were the ones that went too early.
my advice is to plan for late may or early june. don't plan way ahead for "as soon as you can" because the weather may screw you. i think the last group i dropped off was late mid-june.
