Thread: Thoughts on MSR Denali Evo

Default Thoughts on MSR Denali Evo

I'm looking at these snowshoes with the tails for trapping. Has anyone used these or have another recommendation? I have never really snowshoed but would like to buy a good pair instead of some cheapies that would need replacing after a couple years. I would use them in snow that's commonly 2' or so deep and most likely crusted over unless we receive a dumping of fresh powder.

    Thanks

haven't used them yet but bought them this fall. also have 30" tubbs. got these as they are 22" with 6" tails, so there is some versatility. I didn't always need 30 inchers which are pretty big (i'm 5'7" 165 lbs with up to a 40 lb pack.) they can also stash or strap to your pack a lot easier when broken down vs a large pair of 30 inchers. good luck

    Default Many favorable comments...

for MSRs in this thread from Gear forum, though not many trappers I think:

    The flotation tails add flexibility.

AlaskaKodiak had a pair of Lightning Ascents for sale in same price range, but no flotation tails option.

    Good luck.
