Anyone know where there is high bear (Brown or black) activity around the Anchorage area this time of year? Thanks for the info!!
The Alaska Zoo should have plenty of activity.
OK, all kidding aside, bear activity will be winding down pretty quickly. If this snow sticks for a few more days, I would expect most bears to be looking for a den soon. If they're still out, though, good options would be Bird Creek, Indian Valley, and the Kenai Mountains. Good luck!
By the way, all of the above areas are closed to brown bear hunting. Blackies only.
For legal brown bear hunting you'll need to head north of Wasilla or east of Palmer. Read the regulations closely, as seasons change dramatically from place to place.
Crow creek is a good place as well the two time we have went up there we seen black bear. Also they were up high and you will work very hard for one of them as well....
