    Default Son's First Bear

My wife and I spotted it yesterday and decided to come back today with my son. Hiked up after it. She layed there almost an hour flat out on a rock outcropping looking down at us never providing a shot. My son suggested hitting the dying rabbit call in my pocket and she stood up and pointed her nose down hill. I told him to aim for the black tip of her nose thinking it would drop in to the chest area. It left a burn mark down her snout and side of the lips entered the neck popped a lung and out just behind the shoulder. 5 ft nose to tail with two white spots equally spaced on the chest.

Congratulations to your young man! That's always great to read of a young hunter taking his first big game animal. Thanks for sharing!
