    Default Denali Hwy for wolf?

Would the Denali Hwy be any good for wolf, coyote, or fox hunting this time of year? Snow on the road? Should I bring my 4wheeler or backpack in somewhere?

Any better places to hunt these critters closer to Anchorage via the road system/ 4wheeler?

    Default It Happens

I was with a friend who shot a nice wolf on the Denali Highway a couple of years ago. It was almost pure luck. There are large areas of brush that would hide the largest of wolf packs. I have also seen several foxes in several different areas of the Denali Highway. The pelts are better in winter though.

I've never been on the Denali Hwy. So most of it has high brush? I envisioned more open country with lots of tundra?

I was in the Tangle Lake area a few weeks ago, brush was high in areas, but you could use some glass to check the area out as there were area's where with no brush just shin high grass. No signs of the critters you are wanting. No snow on the ground when we left but it was coming down the mnts pretty good. When we got there, I believe there was snow on the peaks, when we left it was almost half way down.
