I was wondering what weather reports folks look at before doing the Jim's to the lake drift?

I have done it and it worked out fine, but there have definitely been days this last month where it was ok in the morning, but would have been pretty hazardous trying to get to the boat ramp. I know camping at the mouth is always a possibility, but one I'd rather avoid.

I have an 18' leopard with a 9.8hp kicker, and I am pretty sure it would handle a fair amount of chop, but I'm not real interested in finding out just how much.

ps- I'm a pilot, so I can get marine and aviation reports, just not sure which areas might correlate best.
