Default Thw Wooldridges first moose hunt

A combined boating and hunting adventure.
Loaded up the Ak and a buddy's Zod MkIII and headed out for 9 days.
Ended up putting in a good base camp and hunting the river with the Ak. Harvested the first Moose on day three, nice little 3 or 4 year old, lots of fat on him.

Spent a day chillaxing in camp, then started hunting again in ernest.
Went up the river and spent a night out, then called a couple in, but didn't get a good look at either of them. It was a cold night, and the rut must have just started, as the boys were pretty interested.

Rained hard for a day, and the river went up 2' Hunted up the river again and took a nice 51" bull right at sun down. Left my wife and buddy there to start skinning and hauled ***** back to camp to get the other feller to help. Got back to the site right at sundown and worked until midnight, then a cold rainy bivouac waiting until first light to get back down river.

Finished off all the beer so it was time to leave. Had both boats just maxxed. The Wooly just would not get on step with most of a moose and all 4 of our gear, and the Zod wouldn't get on step with all the moose, so some creative re-packing ensued. Made it most of the way back, but heavy waves got the meat wet, so we stopped and hung it to dry one more night, and headed out in below zero conditions the next AM.
Set for the winter now, 'cept for a Sheep....

Thats on the metric system so it means below freezing here.
