    Default class

If you are in Anchorage, look into the flyfishing class offered at Waylon Baptist University. My wife took it this past spring, and she learned quite a bit from it. The instructor's name is Dave Rambo, and he really knew his stuff. It covered everything from knot tying to casting instruction.

If you or a neighbor have an outdoor cat, they can be useful for practicing your cast in the yard. Just remember to remove the hook at the bend. Or not, either way can be fun if you just cut your leader and it's not your cat. Relax, just kidding, use long needle nose and a forked stick so you don't lose that fly.
