    Default Black Bears in PWS

Looking at giong next weekend in search of Blackies....any suggestions on places or bays to cover. Will have two full days. I was looking at Culrose pass and kings bay. Also Esther Island. Will be hunting with longbow and rifle...depends on stalk and terrain.

Just about anywhere that has streams and creeks coming in to it will produce bears. Just look for salmon carcasses and try there at low tide. Even areas without salmon will still have bears cruising the shores at low tide looking for anything to eat this time of the year. Either cruise real slow in a boat or sit and wait on shore. Make sure you get a good shot in that vegetation is thick if you have to track a wounded one. Good Luck!
