Default Chum fishing on the Chena

Anyone know if there are any chums left in the Chena. Partically upstream of the Little Chena but downstream of the Dam. I am going to be in the area trapping and was just wandering if any salmon are still there...or are they all spawned out/dead. Thank you

no they are gone or so far gone if you caught one, pick it up, your fingers would go right through them.

Default Yes, your'e a bit late

Chums were running well this year until the flooding! They come in just with/behind the king run (mid July-Early Aug). You could always grab some whitefish and throw in a line for burbot!

    Default White fish

Thank you for the suggestion FishnMan. Most of my Alaska fishing experience is with salmon down by anchorage and kenia....with some lake and river/creek trout....also deep sea fishing....what types of lures work best for whitefish/burbot....from research I know burbot are predators/bottom feeders and hearing works really well...any suggestions
