Mountains are a little to steap for Sheep. I tried to get to them but you need rock climbing gear.

Most of the prime area's are Draw only now and huge portions are really only accessible from the air. If you can hike to find a sheep you will not be alone. If you really bust your hind end you may get a ram but the Talkeetnas are not known for large ones, and it is pretty likely that just when you hike in farther than everyone else you will crest a ridge and find a Supercub sitting on a dirt strip.

My 11 year old son and I got a 38.5" in 14A this year. That makes 2 in 3 years in that area.

A big congratulations to your son - he should be really proud, as should be his father. Good job.

There are sheep in 14B. A friend and his 16y.o. son shot two sheep and a caribou (draw permit) on a three day hunt this year in the Talkeetnas..not bad considering they didn't hunt the first day due to same-day flying rules.

    Great success, guys.

Kaha, did you get to sheep hunt this year? Seems you were in the Brooks in '06?
Any luck with your hunts this year?
    Love to hear...
