    kind of random here...
does anyone have any good information/pictures of freshwater eels in Alaska??

just curious... there seems to be a lack of info on the 'net.

Default you are looking up the wrong thing.

no true eels up here at all, but most folks refer to lamprey as "eels". they are often harvested in the pacific northwest as well as alaska. i think most folks smoke them, but i have never taken or eaten any.
had some little ones in a fish tank once...

Here's an eel I found on the Anchor river fishing for Steelhead in October, ugly sucker was still twitching when I found it washed up on the bank

    Default alagnak bound..

    Powder Monkey,

are you tying those articulated style? what size hooks and cones? its hard to tell from the pic....

I've tied up a couple dozen in darker colors.. olive/wht, tan/wht, brown/wht, and of course, black/wht... I've added mirage tinsel to most all of them...

headed out to the Alagnak for ten days this Saturday... stoked!!
