Bought a used Bear Hunter TD Recurve. 60# at 28", will be around 54-55# at my draw length.

Will post pics as soon as it gets here.

Also bought a New England Arms 20 gauge single shot at a local pawn shop. Thing is practically new and shoots good.

Also bought a new camo jacket and pants. Got some gear for the kids as well but don't tell them yet, it is a surprise.

Rest of the PFD will pay bills and spoil the kids.

I'm in the process of ordering a 60" Mojostik from Whisperstik Bows. Padauk riser with cocobolo saddle, Asbell grip, bamboo cored cocobolo limbs and Elk antler tip overlays. Draw weight around 55 - 60 lbs. at my draw length. It should be here in a few months.

    Default Holding out....

for the deployment bow offer from Bowtech. They have swithced thier program up a little and you can only recieve the gaurdian, but for 500 bucks all set up its still a steal. I have never shot a bowtech so Iraq will be a good time to test it out.

I bought my Guardian at the end of March. I have absolutely no regrets about this investment. Every time I take it out around fellow archers, they are ooing and awing. According to fellow archers, it is quiet and no recoil. Since it is the only bow I have shot, I don't know any better, or a point of reference.

Once the center shot was set, and sight set, no other tuning was required. When I went from field points and broad heads, no adjustments were required.

Ummmm . . . it's broken into several pieces. Maybe next year the pfd will be bigger and you can buy one that works.

I'm thinking hard on picking up a Bowtech General in next couple of weeks. I want to get my bow cert. so I can apply for some drawing hunts. Oh, as well as being able to legally shoot spike-forks bulls that came into my yard during hunting season every year.

Beautiful! Simply beautiful......let us know how it shoots.

Found a source of Ipe and some other exotic hardwoods right here in Palmer. I'll be going through there stacks looking for wood for a bow or two for winter projects. The store is called "Fir traders" it's off S Industrial rd in Palmer, he has a good selection of Ipe, purple hart, brazilian rosewood and tiger wood at the best prices I've ever seen.

    Matt,
If the General is similar to the Guardian as far as shooting, tuning, recoil and noise, you will not regret your investment.

I hear ya brother. That's where mine is going and my oldest is only 5. I guess you can't start too early when it comes to saving for college though.

I've shot selfbows for the last 14 years and haven't ordered a bow since well before that. Lately I've been thinking about ordering a takedown. I posted on another thread about Black Widow bows and got blasted by Widow haters. I've never owned one before but all my buddies back in MO shoot'em. I decided to order a PSA 60" Ironwood two days ago with extra matching limbs. I'm used to building a bow in a week. Now I have to wait 3 months.
