    Default Placer River

I rode the train up over Grandview last weekend and I was wondering if anyone kayaks the Placer River down from the top by the railrode s-turns. I'm not even sure if its passable, but it looks awesome. No waterfalls that I could see from the train (when the train wasnt in a tunnel anyway) but lots of good drops, holes, corners and chutes.

    Default No info here

I am with you on this one.
It looks like a fun trip, but not knowing whats around the corner and maybe no where to get out if it gets a little to western in the canyon may make for getting a guy in the newspaper.
    I hope someone will know.

He'd be the one to know, or to try it out if he doesn't. Google alaska whitewater, it links to his page, gives his e-mail.
