    Default Track my Sheep Hunt

I am leaving today for my sheep hunt in 13D East side. You can follow my sheep hunt by clicking here:

    http://share.findmespot.com/shared/f...xIXcgvipdky448

I am using the SPOT tracking system. Still under test and still has a lot of issues, but we will try it.

There are 3 types of message you will be able to see. TRACK, HELP and OK.

Track: You will be able to see where I am on my sheep hunt. I will be turning this off at night and back on once I wake up. You should see 5 to 10 min updates. The fact I am turning it off/on will show my wife that I am OK.

Help: When I hit this button it will update the share page and also send an email message to those I have added to my profile. My custom message is “Come pick me up early”. You will not be able to see this message. They are having a problem with updating the share page with custom messages so you will only be able to see an outdated message. Bottom line is when you see this message it means I want picked up.

OK: Just like the HELP message, this one is screwed up to. This message means I just shot a sheep. Again this message isn’t being updated with my custom message so you will see “All is good etc………” I also think each time I turn on this unit (in the AM) you will see an OK message sent. I doubt I shoot one from my bivy, but if I do I will send this message out twice.

Right know I am not sure this unit is worth the $$$, but once they work out the bugs it might be. Either way, the wife is happy to be able to monitor my hunt and see that I am safe.

If you want to play around a little you can select the MAP, SATELLITE etc… on the upper right. This should give you a better idea on where I am at.

This is my first time using on of these so hopefully it works. Once I return, I will post a short story and some photos.

Pretty cool stuff, unless your going to the "secret spot". Should be interesting to see how this works.

Not leaving til noon. Wx and wind is up so I doubt we will make it out tonight. I will not be playing with this spot unit today so the next messages will be for real. Disregard the old messages they will drop off after 7 days.

Also it seems to take alittle while for this to download, so don't give up.

He drew one of the 13D permits.
I just found this thread and think the tracking thing is pretty cool.
Don't know if I would let everyone know where I was hunting, but it is cool technology.

Looks like he went via Meekins to Tazlina Glacier.

    Maybe not Meekins but..

First time I looked the track flew right to the moraine at the back of the lake, now its several miles west.

Doubtful. Looks more like Tazlina airstrip rather than Sheep Mountain.

    Very cool.

Not sure of the distance between time stamps, but it looks like he is really moving quick.

    Default Blank Page Also

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I could see the page before, but now it's blank when I pull it up also.

    Default Just checked

and it is working for me. He certainly has gone up several valleys and is now heading back around the valley split he started at? Lots of ground covered, so I assume he hasn't scored yet.

    Anyone still checking on Troy?
About 24 hrs ago his message changed to the help message which means he wants early pickup. Sounds like he's had enough of the area.
Unit seems to be doing the job.

    Default I have

It has been interesting to see his progress. His first e-mail stated"

Just like the HELP message, this one is screwed up to. This message means I just shot a sheep.

But I never saw him get off the valley floors except back on day four he made quite a loop over the mountains.

    The OK meant sheep down
    OK meant early PU
