Is 30x enough??
Seems i'm finding myself upgrading all my old gear lately, and am considering replacing my 25 year old Bushnell spotting scope. I had a look at the Leupold Gold Ring Compact 15-30x50. Sure is nice and light/compact, but is 30x enough for Sheep and all around use? As has been stated over and over, seems like most of the time, the higher magnification gets distorted by atmospheric conditions, and you are back to lower power settings. Anyone have any experience with this scope? Its either this or get the Pentax unit which gets rave reviews here, which BTW, Camerland says is discontinued on their site
