Default Moose Hunt 2009, Brooks Range.........

We are starting to plan next years moose hunt and we are looking at the South side of the Brooks Range, looking for any info, if you don't wish to share openly feel free to PM or Email.

P.S. If this helps we will be flying out with Coyote Air, so lets say a 2hr flight from coldfoot in either direction.

Are you doing a float hunt or a set camp? I did a float on the southside in 06 and shot a decent bull and saw 1 hog that we passed up on the first day. I would HIGHLY recommend you do a float hunt.

Looking for anything on the south side within 2hrs flight time from coldfoot. That's a huge area. I would love to do a float hunt but not sure if we can swing it, probably going to be a drop camp.

Over the last couple years there has been posts on this site and the PV forum from hunters on the South side of the Brooks. The sheenjek and coleen rivers produce both bou and moose I think. Might want to talk to Larry B. about an area.

Not producing good bou this year. Most of the Porc herd was already in Canada back in mid-August. Not sure if this will be an ongoing thing.
