    Default Moose/Denali

Spent last weekend with the wife in Denali and had some luck photographing moose. The Fall colors are starting to pop. Pretty amazing.

Great shots Eddie. We fly up to NW Alaska next week for a float trip. Hope to see some similar colors on the tundra.

Thanks for checking out the shots. You should have some nice color on the tundra. Good luck on the trip, take lots of photos and catch a lot of fish!

Will do Eddie. Never found the extra cash laying around for the 100 macro, but hope to have it soon. Bush fees are outrageous. I will be sure to send you a Flickr link after the trip.

No bus this time. The moose were in the 10-15 mile mark coming into the park, just outside of the closed habitat area before you reach Savage River. At times we were able to get within 20' of the bulls. Of course, me standing next to a tree, shooting behind the slow fat guy that I new I could out run.

    HA!

We did just miss a female wolf with pups at 6am at about the 12-mile mark at one of the washouts. Also, there has been a lynx with kittens at the Savage River campground. And we just missed them to. ARRRRRG!!!

    If you go, good luck!

I love the second one. Great capture of wildlife and the photographers trying to take photos of it. They probably got you in the photo, too

My humble apologies friend ...Sometimes it is easy to misinterpret what one writes. I know you have always been perty straight forward in your comments posted in regards to other peoples photos and should have not doubted you though others have. I thank you for the kind words. Maybe we should get together sometime and talk marketing. It would be much appreciated.

No problem!! - I am thinking seriously of starting a new thread.. The Art of Photography, and that image is a perfect example of what I mean about the Art of photography, we have all seen tons of moose photos and other wildlife photos till it makes me YAWN, but your two images "stand out" in a most unique way.

Photography as an "Art form" better yet "Fine Art" is a huge money maker, creating an image is one part of photography, and there are a dozen or more ways to market your images.

The One thing I like about photography, is that it is not so cut and dry as some books make it out to be. There is no one set way to accomplish or create an image that is "sale-able" .

If you have a DSLR then most likely you have a computer and a good printer. Begin by getting some Red River Paper #53 white glossy 5 x 7
but before you run 100 sheets of paper @ 16.00 per box
You design a "back" for your postcards, run the back of the paper through your printer first. Then put the photo on the front glossy side next.
I pay 16 per hundred sheet box and sell them for 3 bux each - $300 when those hundred post cards are gone. Good return for such a small investment. BUT I need 64 images printed to fill up a post card stand.
So you see the possible return on your investment is huge !! But how many good images do you have that sell ?? There is only one way to find that out !!

Now if you can rent a small store or go in with other photographers and open a small co-op and feature your images in a gallery in most any portion of this state.. guess what ?? YOUR GONNA MAKE $$$

Another way to make lots of money is to print for other people . Most everyone has a printer, but if you can do things that most people can't do. Then that is a huge plus to advertise in your area. i.e. being able to print huge 24 x 36 in prints on canvas or on clear FILM to use as transparancies in store fronts etc.. There are so many ways to make big bux in photography !!
