Tailchaser and I spent a quick morning at a pond just off the roadway about 10 minutes from the house. No competition today as everyone else was out chasing moose. We ended the day at around 8:30 with 9 birds on the strap and three in the alders that we couldn't find. One mallard and 8 widgeon was the total and we left the birds flying for another day. Basically we had to walk out and meet the game warden to be checked. Not a problem, we'll be back out after a few mallards this afternoon while we're down river catching salmon!
Here's a shot of Tailchaser's first coho on a fly up here. Caught in the Eyak River on 29 Aug 2008 with a fucia colored Rupps Hairball Leach on a 9 weight set up.
Wish ya'll were here!
